The Cyber Challenge
Scope
The cyber realm is pervasive, it cannot be described on conventional maps. We live and work with it every day. Cyberspace is a contested domain which holds the backbone of our physical world, the core of our global economy and the future of our collective integrity. The impact of governance and control in this cyber-arena cannot be overstated.

With people, data and devices on the move and networked at an unprecedented scale, companies, leaders and citizens everywhere have a duty of care to engage with the cyber security challenge. In a continually evolving threat landscape, cyber security is everyone's responsibility.

Shared Risk and Cost of Indecision

All agree the cybersecurity challenge is unprecedented and resources too few. While the differential between actual and projected annual loss estimates continue to increase, indicating an underestimated loss forecast, these statistics do not reflect the potential of immeasurable losses due to attacks and resulting control of social media, nuclear power plants, the energy grid, communications and air traffic control systems.
Control over the unseen and unknown cyber space realm eclipses any missile attack. Responsible leaders must join together to increase awareness and move to action all available resources toward protecting the U.S. economy, physical infrastructure and personal liberty.
Cyber Leadership
In a threat ecosystem that is constantly and rapidly evolving, authentic security cannot be maintained exclusively in cyberspace, but is found in purposeful leadership. For organizations of all sizes across every sector, it’s not ‘if’, it’s ‘when’. Organizations everywhere must decide how they will contribute to the advancement of thought leadership for more secure organizations and a safer world.
